Project ELN

The ELN has reached a critical and exciting point. From September 2010 to March 2011, members of the ELN Strategy Team, led by a pro bono team of consultants from Deloitte’s Advising the Community Together (ACT) group, developed the ELN’s first formal strategic and operational plans. We’re calling the implementation of these plans Project ELN.

Engaging its broad membership, ELN launched its shared mission to be a diverse network of emerging leaders advancing the Toronto region through awareness, influence and action and has committed to five goals:

  1. To build a more diverse and integrated leadership network in the region.
  2. To raise awareness of issues facing the region and contribute new perspectives and ideas.
  3. To take action that accelerates the region’s economic and social prosperity through member-driven activities and projects.
  4. To establish governance mechanisms and clearly defined leadership roles and responsibilities.
  5. To maintain effective communications with ELN members and key stakeholder groups.

Four teams have been created to drive the implementation of the goals:

  • Taking Action Team
  • Governance Team
  • Communications Team
  • Membership and Partnership Team

The work on the strategic planning process was the combined efforts of members of ELN, pro bono consultants working at Deloitte and CivicAction’s staff and Board members.
